Creating an Atmosphere

Have you been following the "Making Your Home a Haven Fall Challenge" with Courtney at Women Living Well? Week 1 is "Are You Distracted and Distant or Making Your Home a Haven?" and today began week 2, "How to Make Your Home Sing". Some REALLY good stuff there that has really inspired and challenged me.

Today she touched on having music softly playing in your home. I love to have music playing here and I do confess that it is not always playing softly! Music can create a peaceful atmosphere that promotes calmess, or a fun atmosphere that promotes productivity, or a worshipful atmosphere that promotes a God-centered home.

I thought I would share some of my favorite music to have in my home as we are working and playing.

Serene and Pearl Their songs are so soothing and peaceful and inspire me to be a godly wife and mother. I especially recommend the cd's "Peace All Over Me" and "Soothe Me".

Seeds Family Worship We have all of these scripture memory cd's and they REALLY do get God's Word into your head and your heart. It's so funny when we are reading the bible and we come across a verse that is included on one of these cd's, someone will always burst into song when they recognize it.

Worship music. Some of my favorites are Hillsong, Desperation Band, and Jesus Culture.

Kari Jobe

Hymns. I love hymns! They are so powerful!!! I especially love the covers that contemporary artists have done and I hear that Serene & Pearl are recording a hymn cd!!!

When the children and I are working together in the kitchen we like to listen to upbeat music--contemporary Christian, Christian rock, etc. I think they would say TobyMac is their favorite. :-)

What are some of your favorites? Please share in the comments or on the facebook page!
